20 years of Showing Up in South Central
For 20 years, Adriana has turned her lived experience into action, fighting for justice and opportunity in District 9. She founded Empowering Youth in South Central to expand college access in local high schools and co-founded the Dream Resource Center at Los Angeles Trade Tech to support immigrant students.
Solving Food Insecurity
During the pandemic, she launched South Central Mutual Aid LA, delivering healthy food to more than 5,000 families.

Defending Immigrants
Adriana created the South-Central Unity Coalition to defend immigrant families during ICE raids, distribute thousands of Know Your Rights cards, and fight gentrification with renters, workers, and small businesses.
Change starting from the Neighborhood Level
Professionally, Adriana worked with the City of Los Angeles Department of Neighborhood Empowerment, where she advanced language access and trained over 300 Neighborhood Council leaders.
Today, she serves as President of the Central Alameda Neighborhood Council and as the Region 9 Budget Advocate in the City of Los Angeles. Adriana is running for Los Angeles City Council because District 9 deserves leadership rooted in action, love, and courage. Directly impacted by poverty, displacement, and police violence, Adriana is ready to make history as the first Latina to represent her community.
